The Blind Side

This movie. It’s such a love/hate when something is based on a true story. Feelings are in overload.
One of the best things about them is the photos during the credits. The real photos. Not of actors but of real people, the ones who created the story.

What a story it is.

You wanna know what living life to the fullest actually is? It’s waking up on a Monday morning with no complaints. It’s knowing you always deserve to laugh. It’s doing what feels right no matter what. It’s doing what you want to, no matter how stupid you look. It’s about being yourself, ‘cause no one can tell you you’re doing it wrong.

2013

The cliché New Year’s reflections and resolutions. Why not.

2013 has been good to me.
This time last year I wrote down things I wanted to accomplish, put them into a frame and stashed it on the back of a clothing shelf. In my line of site but not obnoxiously obvious.
I have done most of the things that I set out to do.

- Leave my dead end job behind for a career
- Purchase another competition horse
- Become healthy: my body is my temple
- Have a savings
- Remove toxic things that don’t make me happy or don’t have time for me

They were fairly broad and I got every single one of them except for have savings, which yes I do have but not the figures I wanted.
I adore my job as an Emergency Management Consultant and have for the past 11 months. Biggles has been a welcome (and damn expensive) addition to my little horse competition family. I’m much healthier than I have been for the past few years and lastly I have cut a lot of toxic things out of my life.

So 2014.
Be bigger. I started you with some great friends, a stunning location, good times and in a pretty blue dress. Let’s keep this year in that fashion.
I will be updating my frame.
Here is to my career hopefully skyrocketing under the new label of ‘Dynamiq’.
I will continue to be healthy and happy.
My savings goal is going to roll on over from 2013.
I will have two healthy horses with one in well deserved semi retirement and one with continual growth and successes.

But 2014, this year I want more.
I’m getting my ski boat ;)
